About Akhila


Akhila Satish

Akhila Satish started her career in the life sciences, working in research at the University of Michigan and the National Institutes of Health.

Today, in addition to her work at Meseekna, Akhila acts an advisor to technology companies. She has been involved in everything from setting early benchmarks, inspiring founders to take the entrepreneurial leap to helping them find product market fit and manage investor relations. She is the first call for founders struggling to put out fires, from interpersonal team dynamics to negotiating customer contracts.

Akhila is also the executive director of The Science Runway, a non-profit dedicated to inspiring girls to join the life sciences. Under her leadership, The Science Runway has grown from an idea at a roundtable discussion to a successful arm of the Center For Healthcare Innovation (CHI). She serves on the Board of Directors for CHI’s Women In Healthcare and Life Sciences.

Her published work includes papers in Nature and Human Genomics. She also has written extensively on her chosen field of scientific literacy. She has published over ten articles in the mainstream media in outlets such as Forbes and The Wall Street Journal, reaching an audience of millions with her passionate argument for greater scientific education.

Education

Akhila Satish received her Bachelor of Science in neuroscience with honors from the University of Michigan, her graduate degree in biotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania, and her MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
